TECHNICAL SKILLS
Drawing: Knowledge of line, value, composition, and perspective, drawing foundations, color theory, 2-D and 3-D design & composition, and figure drawing. Expertise in charcoal, graphite, ink, pen, and mixed media. Knowledge of archival and sustainable materials.

Painting: Proficient in acrylic, watercolor, ink, oils, mixed media, and gouache. Knowledge of color theory, composition, and perspective. Strong command of figurative, abstract, and experimental approaches. Understanding of art history and contemporary trends.

Printmaking: Expertise in relief printing (woodcut, linocut, letterpress), intaglio (etching, drypoint, aquatint, mezzotint), lithography (stone and plate), screen printing (hand-pulled, photo-emulsion), monotype and monoprint, collagraph, and photopolymer and digital printmaking. Knowledge of multi-color registration, large-scale and experimental processes, the integration of alternative substrates and mixed media, sustainable and non-toxic printmaking practices.

Digital Media: Proficient in Adobe Photoshop (advanced photo manipulation, compositing, digital painting, and retouching), Illustrator (vector illustration, logo design, typography, and pattern creation), InDesign (layout for print and digital publications), Premiere Pro (video editing, color grading, and post-production), and Lightroom (photo editing, color correction, and workflow management). Digital Illustration and concept art (tablet-based drawing and painting, iPad Pro, etc.), Generative and AI Art (understanding of emerging digital and creative tools). Adobe Bridge, Microsoft Word, Excel, Spreadsheet, iMovie, Garage Band, and PowerPoint.

Glass: Knowledge of and practice in glassblowing techniques, kiln-forming, casting, cold-working, gathering, marvering, hot shop work.
​
Applied: Book making, paper making, and repairing and refurbishing Vandercook and Demaco printing presses.
